Dr. TOKAN SILAS BADUKU was born on 28th August, 1961 in Katsit, a suburb of Kafanchan. He attended Anglican Primary School (Bakin Kogi I) Kafanchan between 1968 and 1974. He proceeded to Government Secondary School Zaria where he obtained his West African School Certificate (WASCE) in 1979. He passed his Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) examination in 1981 that allowed him to study and graduated with MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery) degree from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1987. After his mandatory NYSC in Lagos, he joined the then Health Management Board (HMB) in Kaduna State. He served in General Hospital Kafanchan, General Hospital Gwantu and General Hospital Kofan Gayan in Zaria, after which he proceeded to University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan in Oyo State for his Residency Programme in Radiology. He became a Fellow of West African College of Surgeons (Radiology) in April 1999. In October 1999, he passed National Postgraduate Medical College in Radiology examination qualifying him also to be a Fellow.
He returned to the then Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital in 1999 and has seen the evolution of this Institution till date. He was the only Consultant staff to the department till recently when other Consultants came.
He was the Head of Radiology, Kaduna State University from 2013 till recently when he stepped down due to demands of his present office as the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC).
He is a Member, Association of Radiologists in Nigeria (ARIN), Member Association of Radiologist of West Africa (ARAWA) and International Fellow, Radiological Society of North America (RSNAN). He is also a Senior Lecturer of Radiology of the Kaduna State University.
